Last night I dreamed my whole house was clean and I looked perfect...like that’s going to happen in real life!

We all dream of having a clean house, perfect figure, and a flawless face, but is it really achievable? According to 1950’s housewives, it’s not only achievable, but mandatory. Home where the husband comes to unwind after a long day at work, and the wife makes her palace. Home is also where wives trim the most weight, through making healthy food, and working their buns off to keep things in shape.
“Jen, But Never Jenn” developed the original routine for her own project. I’m just tweaking it here and there, so please go check her out! I also took bit’s and pieces from “The Handbook Of Beauty” by Constance Hart for the bedtime routine.
Rise and shine!
~Wake Up
~Throw back the covers, so they can air out
~Open up the blinds and windows
~Freshen up, i.e. wash face, brush hair, brush teeth
~Make and serve breakfast
~While eating breakfast, review the menu for the next couple days and compare it to what’s currently available in the home. Make note of anything that needs to be prepared ahead of time or shopping that needs to get done
~Clean up breakfast
~Kiss your husband “Good-bye” on his way out to work
~Get ready for the day. Complete a 10-minute exercise regime first, then shower, do hair and make-up, then get dressed
Onto daily chores!
~Straighten up the living and dining room, including picking up potential clutter, light dusting, fluffing / straightening pillows, and watering plants or flowers
~Start on tidying the bedroom by making the beds. Pick up potential clutter, lightly dust, hang up any clothes that may be about, or ensure dirty ones are in the hamper
~Do a light tidy of the bathroom, including removing and replacing used towels, refilling
toilet paper and soap (if needed) and cleaning the sink and basin area, including soap dishes
~Begin long-advance preparations for dinner (such as making dessert)
~Begin work in the kitchen by wiping down work surfaces and inside the fridge. Be sure to dispose of any out of date items. Dispose of the garbage. Sweep and mop the floor. Bleach and scrub inside of the sink. Wipe out the microwave.
~Handle errands that might take you out of the home (such as shopping, volunteering, going to the post office, getting an item fixed, etc), bookkeeping, correspondence, or indulge in a hobby
~If returning from the grocery store, wash vegetables, wrap them and put them away. Place rest of groceries or purchases in their proper place
~Have a quick lunch

~Serve dinner
~Clear the table and wash dishes

~Set table for breakfast

~Enjoy an evening with your husband
Now for the best part of the day: Bedtime!
~Begin getting ready for bed by removing makeup with a moisturizing makeup remover cream
~Do a quick five-minute stretching sequence to relax your muscles from a hard day of work
~Cream cleanse or soap-and-water cleanse face
~Take a shower to clean off all the grime of the day
~Apply lotion to skin after shower, focusing on elbows, back of heels, and other rough spots; also apply petroleum jelly or special oils to nails(finger and toes), lashes, brows, and lips
